PLATRES VILLAGE
Mountainous village in Cyprus, located on the southern slopes of the Troodos Mountains and is one of the wine villages. The village is often called Pano Platres after the village of Tornarides, which is a smaller residential settlement situated some 3 km to the south-west, was renamed Kato Platres. Platres gained a reputation as the destination for notable people, including King Farouk of Egypt and the Nobel Prize-winning poet Giorgos Seferis.
KALOPANAYIOTIS
Kalopanayiotis is located in the evergreen valley of Setrachos river on the northern slopes of the Troodos range. In the village, there are a number of churches and chapels, such as the churches of Saint Marina and Panayia Theotokos, the chapels of Saint Andronikos and Saint Athanasia, Saint George, Saint Kyriakos, Archangelos Michael, Saint Sergios and Bachos and Panayia Theoskepasti. The most notable Byzantine monuments in the area include the monastery of Saint John Lampadistis, and the Kykkos watermill. The monastery of Saint John Lampadistis is one of the ten Painted Churches in the Troödos Region, which were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 because of their outstanding frescoes and testimony to the history of Byzantine rule in Cyprus.
KATO PYRGOS
Pyrgos is the main village of Tyllirias. The village is built on the northern foothills of the Troodos mountain range, in the largest and most beautiful valley of the area, along an unparalleled crystal clear beach. The community is in Nicosia and it is about 70 kilometres away from the capital, about 80 kilometres away from Pafos, and about 50 minutes from Polis Chrysochous. Pyrgos is famous for peaches, lemons, oranges, mandarins and lots of other fruits and vegetables. The village is also known for its figs, both fresh and dry. It is worth mentioning that Pyrgos is also famous for the production of charcoal.
PEYIA
Peyia Village is 12 km north of Paphos town at the southern end of the Akamas Peninsula with stunning views over the coastline. Peyia is lively and has many restaurants, pubs, entertainment and family activities. Peyia municipality spans from the popular beaches of Coral Bay up through the picturesque and hilly village. The Peyia Forest and the exclusive neighbourhoods of Agios Georgios and Sea Caves are nearby. “Wine Country” which is by Kathikas is a short drive from Peyia.
KOURIS DAM
Kouris Dam is the largest dam of a network of 107 dams in Cyprus. The dam lies at an altitude of 250 metres and collects the water delivered by the rivers Kouris, Limnatis and Kryos. Furthermore, water from Diarizos River is diverted to Kouris Dam via a 14.5 kilometres long connecting tunnel. It has an overall catchment area of 300 kilometres (190 mi)2.

Olympus is the highest point in Cyprus. Mount Olympus peak and the "Troodos Square" fall under the territory of Platres in Limassol District
